So as I was exploring the line, with the word “overhead” in mind I came to the realization that what was over my head for most of this time has been an umbrella. As from my word definition and brainstorm, I liked the idea of an overhead mirror, so that one could look overhead and get and overhead view of themselves. So I ordered some Mylar and started making umbrellas to group as an overhead installation.

For this exercise I walked the entire line and took pictures looking overhead. I tried to get interesting shots, not just 100 pictures of grey Alfred sky, and paid particular attention to ceilings and light fixtures.

Overhead-
-over one’s head; aloft; up in the air or sky
-so as to be completely submerged or deeply involved:
to plunge overhead in water; to sink overhead in debt.
-of or pertaining to the general cost of running a business:
overhead expenses; an overhead charge.
-a view from above
- Overhead transparencies or ”slides” (usually 8-1/2″ x 11″) thatare projected to an audience via an overhead (flatbed) projector.

Questions-
What is over my head-Does this change with time-Can I get an overhead view-How can I use overhead transparencies in new ways-What information is overhead-What is over my head and not someone else’s-What is not over my head that is over someone else’s-Can overhead refer to costs other than monetary charges?

For this Exploration I thought of different ways of measuring passage of time from the vantage point of MY bench.
Clouds traveling across the sky/evolving in shape
Number of people passing by: I counted 30 people between 4:25 and 4:30; an average of 6 people per min.
Cricket chirps
Lamp-post on or off
Sighted grasshoppers
Number of blinks
Length/position of shadows
Raindrop Density
